Resident Four Function Calculator
This is an IBM PC or compatible terminate and stay resident
program that emulates a four function calculator. After it
is loaded into memory by typing "ffc" at the DOS prompt,
it can then be used by pressing Alt - F1. It displays what
looks like a normal handheld calculator on screen, with the
results of your calculations displayed at the top of the
calculator in regular calculator fashion. The contents of
the screen below it are saved and will be restored when you
press the Escape Key. It will function with almost any soft-
ware in either color or monochrome text mode (80 column).
Use the numeric keypad for entry, along with the +, -, .,
and the = sign for totals. The "c" key will clear to the
calculator to zero and the "e" key clears the calculator
to the previous entry or last result the first time it is
pressed, and works like the "c" the next time it is pressed.
The most recent modifications to this program include mods
to force the number-locks key on during calculator use, and
off afterwards. I also added a mod to turn the cursor off
and then on after use. Rounding is to six decimal places,
with all trailing zeros chopped off.
The calculator can be moved around the screen by holding the
shift key and pressing "<" or ">" to move right or left.
This is a public domain offering and I will upload improved
versions from time to time. I will soon complete a version
that will emulate a full "slide rule" style calculator.
For ease of use, you may want to rename the file from FFC4.
COM to FFC.COM and replace any earlier version.
